We recently worked with Oh Yes! Net Zero, a local sustainability initiative, to produce labels for the business to gift to members and attendees of national conferences to encourage sustainable behaviours.

What is Oh Yes! Net Zero?

Oh Yes! Net Zero is a collaborative movement established in 2022 by founding partners Reckitt, Hull City Council, Future Humber, and the University of Hull with the aim of demonstrating how a City region can come together and lead the way to a net zero future.

Over 180 organisations – from across Hull and the Humber region – have joined Oh Yes! Net Zero. From micro-businesses, SMEs and multinationals to public sector organisations, charities, and community groups.

Through being part of Oh Yes! Net Zero, member organisations can learn from each other, share best practice, and receive practical support to accelerate their net zero ambitions.

Working with Springfield Solutions

Oh Yes! Net Zero regularly holds member events and activities and has been showcased as an innovative place-based approach to net zero at regional, national and international events.

“We wanted to create a branded giveaway to use, which would be both functional and suitable for a diverse audience. One of the simplest (and usually no-cost) ways to reduce carbon emissions is to switch off electrical equipment when it’s not being used.” Said Melissa Rackham, Community Engagement Manager at Oh Yes! Net Zero.

“We were inspired by Oh Yes! member, Springfield Solutions’ own initiative – which saw them install stickers reminding staff to turn off lights and equipment in the workplace. Therefore, we created an Oh Yes! Net Zero branded “Switch it off” label which can be used by businesses, organisations, schools and even in homes!”

Oh Yes! Net Zero was able to incorporate its speech bubble branding onto the label and choose a non-permanent adhesive to avoid causing damage to any surfaces where the labels were installed.

“We had quite a tight turnaround to create the labels for use at a national conference. Despite a late adjustment to the size, the team at Springfield Solutions completed the full order within the timeframe. 

We recieved very positive feedback about the labels from exhibition stand visitors, Climate Changemaker students (who asked for additional labels to put around their school) and member organisations – one of which is interested in procuring bespoke labels to use in their own organisation. 

We have used the labels at five events already, and plan to use them at many more events in the future!
